SIGDA Student Research Forum at ASP-DAC2022 (SRF@ASP-DAC2022)
Online Recorded Presentation and Text-based Discussion: January 10 to January 31, 2022
Virtual Live Session: 20:00-22:00, January 18, 2022 (Taipei Time, UTC+08)
Aims of the Forum
The Student Research Forum at the ASP-DAC is renovated from a traditional poster session hosted by ACM SIGDA for Ph.D. students to present and discuss their dissertation research with experts in system design and design automation community. Starting from 2015, the forum includes both Ph.D. and M.S. students, offering great opportunities for the students to establish contacts for their future career. In addition, the forum helps the companies and academic institutes to get an overview of the latest research and discover the extraordinary candidates for their employment.
SRF@ASP-DAC 2022 will be held as a virtual forum due to COVID-19. The forum is composed of 17 excellent posters from all over the world, and 2 industry talks. The forum welcomes all students, professors and industrial professionals from the relevant research community.
Timeline
The forum will be organized in two components:- January 10 to January 31, 2022: text-based discussion (posters and pre-recorded video presentations)
- January 18, 2022: a 2-hour live session from 20:00 to 22:00 (Taipei Time, UTC+08)
Free registration
As a virtual forum for the first time, we will adopt WebEx as an integrated online platform of the forum. The following functions are provided in the integrated platform:
- Sharing of posters and pre-recorded presentation videos
- Text-based discussion
- Video/audio-based interactive meeting and screen sharing
The forum is free of charge, but registration is needed to join the WebEx-based online platform for security considerations. Please register the forum through this link. WebEx can be downloaded via this link. After you receive the confirmation, the platform can be accessed via this link.
Participation
The online platform will be made accessible by all the forum attendees from January 10 to January 31, 2022. You can read the posters, watch the videos, and communicate with the student presenters by sending them text messages.
There will be a two-hour online live session during 20:00-22:00, January 18, 2022 (Taipei Time, UTC+08). The time is selected to fit worldwide attendees including professors and students from Asia, Europe and North America. The student presenters of the posters will attend the live session. Attendees can have a real-time video/audio interaction with the student presenters.
Technical Sessions
There are 17 high-quality posters selected from all over the world. In addition to a poster, each student presenter has pre-recorded a short video in up to 2 minutes to briefly summarize the thesis and a long video in up to 15 minutes to elaborate it in detail. Participants could watch the short videos to get the main ideas and contributions efficiently while further watch the long videos to know more details if interested. The posters and videos are accessible from January 10 to January 31, 2022.
Industry Talks
There are two industry talks given by Cadence Design Systems, Inc. and Synopsys, Inc. during the live session on January 18, 2022.
Program
The live session will start at 20:00 January 18, 2022 (Taipei Time, UTC+08)- 07:00 January 18, 2022, Eastern Standard Time (EST = UTC - 05)
- 13:00 January 18, 2022, Central European Time (CET = UTC + 01)
