Welcome to the ASP-DAC 2022

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I would like to welcome you to the 27th Asia and South Pacific Design Automation Conference (ASP-DAC 2022). Because of the continued COVID-19 pandemic, we hold ASP-DAC 2022 as a virtual conference. Though we cannot enjoy face to face communication, the virtual conference style provides you to access all sessions from anywhere and without time-zone limitations. We also believe that the busy researchers and engineers who could not attend physical ASP-DAC can now attend the virtual ASP-DAC 2022.

ASP-DAC is a high-quality and premium conference on Electronic Design Automation (EDA) like other sister conferences such as Design Automation Conference (DAC), Design, Automation & Test in Europe (DATE), International Conference on Computer Aided Design (ICCAD), and Embedded Systems Week (ESWEEK). ASP-DAC started in 1995 and has continuously offered opportunities for researchers and designers in the world to learn about the advancements on design and automation of electronic systems.

ASP-DAC 2022 received 310 submissions from all over the world. Based on rigorous and thorough reviews by the Technical Program Committee, 95 papers have been accepted and 27 technical sessions have been organized. Five Special Sessions based on invited talks have also been organized by the Technical Program Committee. All presentation videos can be accessed on demand from January 10 to January 28 and live sessions are scheduled on January 18-20.

We have arranged three Keynote sessions. The first keynote address is “Boosting Productivity and Robustness in the SysMoore with a Triple-play of Hyperconvergency, Analytics, and AI Innovations” by Shankar Krishnamoorthy of Synopsys, USA. The second one is “Powering a Quantum Future through Quantum Circuits” by Jerry M. Chow of IBM, USA. The third keynote address is “EDA Opportunities for Future HPC and 3D IC Integration” by Ken Wang of TSMC, Taiwan. The three keynotes are given on January 18-20 and their presentation videos can be accessed on demand afterward and till January 28.

The Designers’ Forum is a unique program that will share design experience and solutions of real product development from the presenters. Presentation videos can be accessed on demand from January 10 to 28 and live sessions will be held on January 18-20. The topics discussed in this forum include key drivers of global hardware security, compiler and toolchain for efficient AI computation, AI for chip design and testing, and empowering AI through Innovative computing. The University Design Contest is also an important annual event of ASP-DAC where 9 high-quality designs were selected for presentation videos available from January 10 to January 28 and live sessions on January 18.

Six tutorials, each having a 3-hour presentation and Q&A, have been arranged on January 17. All presentation videos can be accessed on demand from January 18 to January 28. This year, we have added a training workshop organized by one of our supporters, Cadence. This event will be held in the afternoon of January 19. ASP-DAC 2022 proudly provides these fantastic opportunities to all registered audience without any extra fee.

ASP-DAC 2022 offers you an ideal opportunity to touch the recent technologies and the future directions in the area of design and automation of electronic systems, so please do not miss it. Finally, we would like to express our sincere appreciation to those who have contributed to ASP-DAC 2022, including authors, speakers, reviewers, session organizers, session chairs, sponsors, supporters, and committee members.
